Renting a home in 9 steps
Step 1: Fill in the search assignment on our website
Fill out the form so we can start with searching. You will soon receive possible matches by email.
Step 2: Choose matches
Decide which properties you would like view with us. We will then schedule an appointment with you to view the properties.
Step 3: View properties
Your personal broker will accompany you to view all the properties. We can go together by car or by bike (Amsterdam style). We will inspect the finer details of the property and advise you.
Step 4: Proposal property
Your personal broker will negotiate with the landlord/ broker about the conditions of rental as your representative.
Step 5: Rental contract
Your personal broker will check the Dutch rental contract (that needs to be signed) and the English translation.
Step 6: Rent, deposit and settling-in fee as soon as the landlord gives his permission and signs the rental contract, you need to transfer the first month rent, deposit and settling-in fee to City Housing Amsterdam
On the move-in date, your personal broker will be present to draw up a check in report detailing the condition of the property. We also make pictures of the condition of property, so there won't be any problems during check out.
Step 7: Set-up utilities
Your personal broker will help you with the registration with the best utility providers, such as electricity and television/internet provider.
Step 8: Feeling at home
Your personal broker will be your guide during your whole stay in Amsterdam. He/she can give you useful information about living in Amsterdam and local tips. We want you to feel at home!
